Hyundai and Kia have recalled nearly 3.4 million vehicles in the United States due to the risk of engine compartment fires. The recall covers multiple car and SUV models from the 2010 through 2019 model years, including:Hyundai: Elantra, Sonata, Tucson, Genesis Coupe, Sonata Hybrid, Accent, Azera, Veloster, Elantra Coupe, Santa Fe, Equus, Veracruz, Tucson, Tucson Fuel Cell, Santa Fe Sport .                                                                                                Kia: Forte, Forte Koup, Sportage, K900, Optima, Optima Hybrid, Soul, Rio, Sorento, Rondo.The problem is caused by a manufacturing defect in the anti-lock brake control module, which can leak fluid and cause an electrical short. This short can then ignite a fire while the vehicle is parked or being driven.Hyundai and Kia are advising owners to park their vehicles outdoors and away from structures until the repairs have been completed .
